Obituary

Randall Scott (Randy) Erickson

1963-2014

Randy our beloved husband, Dad, son, brother and friend left us too soon.  Taken unexpectedly by cardiac arrest he has returned to live with our Heavenly Father.  He was born July 30, 1963 in Salt Lake City.   He married his High School sweetheart, Sabrina, on September 30, 1982.   He cherished his four children; Beau, Levi, Brooke and Cassidy, and was so proud of them. His family was his joy, and the center of his world.  Randy was an example of the Christ like quality of love thy neighbor as thyself.  He had talents and felt they were God given for him to help his fellow men, and gave that selfless service to all he could.  He was humble and loving and had a kind word for everyone.   He will be greatly missed.

Randy had a large family that loved him so much!
Randy is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sabrina. He was a devoted father to his children; Beau (Sherida), Levi, Brooke, and Cassidy. His mother Carrene Kidrick. His Siblings Sherrie, Robert, Ryan, and Rachael.  Step-mother Karlene Erickson.
Randy was preceded in death by his father Wilford Paul Erickson and his step-father Robert James Kidrick.

  1. I didn't know Randy very well, but I saw him often at ward events or scout events or around the neighborhood. He was always friendly to me and I appreciated it. My heart goes out to his great family.

  2. I became a part of Randy's extended family just five short years ago, however I can honestly say with so many others that he is one of the most giving, humble, Christlike people I know. He was the kind of man that seemed to really understand others and had a kind and gentle huge heart. He has a smile and laugh that makes others smile. He loved his family and would do anything for them. But he would also do anything for someone he just met. He truly saw others as his brothers and sisters. I admire his love for Jesus and his ability to apply gospel teachings not only to his daily life, but to the trials he had in life. My heart and prayers go out to Sabrina, Beau, Levi, Brooke, and Cass. Know that your husband and father left a legacy of service and love, that he will be watching over you each day wishing he could reach out and hug you, and that your family can be together forever!! Sure love you guys!

  3. For Randy and Family
Sometimes, you can spot a friend instantly! You can tell their smile is genuine and their interest in you is real. Sometimes, just by meeting that new friend, you feel better about life. In my case, as the father of his son’s bride-to-be, my very first meeting with Randy brought thankfulness for such a new friend. Randy had a presence; kind, solid, caring and fun. His words and demeanor instantly brought the peace I had always prayed Sherida would find in her husband and his family. As only a sincere friend would, Randy made sure he and I had time to talk as fathers. It was enough time for me to express appreciation to him and Sabrina for the values and character they have instilled in their family. It was sufficient time to recognize the benefit one gains by everyone who has the blessing of being around them. Thank You Randy! Thank You Sabrina!
I too bear a profound sadness by the sudden absence of my new friend. I believe sincerely the time will arrive when Randy and I will sit down again as fathers and friends and talk about the success and progress of our children. In the meantime, Randy, I too shall honor you. I too will be somewhat consoled in watching the effect of the legacy you left in life. I too will be grateful for the precious gifts of love, strength, honesty and compassion you’ve given to generations of children, grandchildren and to us all.
    With Deepest Respect,
    Joe Bistryski

  4. Dear Randy and Family,
I joined this remarkable family only a month ago, but somehow, I feel as if I always belonged with them. It didn't take long to discover that Randy is one of the most Christlike, honest, caring, and loving people that I have had the pleasure of knowing. I want to tell Randy and Sabrina what a wonderful job they have done in raising Beau, Levi, Brooke, and Cassidy. I especially want them to know how much Beau means to me and that Randy has set the most amazing example of a husband and a father for him. Though I didn't know Randy well, I knew enough about the incredible man that he was to know that he was always willing to help anyone in any way that they needed without hesitation. The impact that he has on my life is enduring and I am forever grateful.
Randy, Sabrina, Beau, Levi, Brooke, Cassidy, and the rest of this admirable family, I love you all so much. I will miss Randy and I know that a special part of him will always remain in each part of you.
From the newest Erickson with love,
    Sherida
